Teams are very important in Overwatch 2, and the support line is a great place to see that. These are the best ways to heal together.
For Overwatch 2, most of our favorite heroes got changes, and some new ones were added. Since the game’s meta changed to five-on-five teams and more bold playstyles were pushed, it’s natural to wonder which character is best to play based on what your partners have picked.
There will always be two in role-locked queues like Ranked, so it’s important to know which ones work better together. There are many good options in the end, and you should always think about which role you’re better at. However, if you are new to Overwatch 2, you can still find some combos that are fun.
Mercy And Lucio
They are a great team because even though they are both healers, they do very different things and even heal in very different ways, which makes them perfect for each other.
Mercy is one of the best single-target heals in terms of raw power. She can heal anyone and boost their damage at the same time. Compared to her, Lucio’s healing isn’t as strong, but he can heal multiple people at once or speed them up, and he can also move around very easily. Together, Mercy and he can use his speed boost to make her move around more.
Lucio’s ultimate can also protect the whole team for a short time, so Mercy can focus on making everyone stronger during that time. Any team can’t be stopped when they both get boosts. Brigitte can also be used instead of Lucio in some parts, giving more close-range defense, which Mercy lacks. That will lose the speed boost, though, and Brigitte needs to hurt something to use her area healing.
Ana And Lucio
You have a mix of speed and power in this move, just like in the last one. Ana can’t move around much in Space Bar Clicker, so Lucio will make things a lot easier for her. Ana can also heal you better than Mercy, but only if you hit your shots.
Even though she can’t always deal more damage, the combination of her healing boost and anti-heal bomb can change the game when enemy Mercy or Zenyatta heroes use their ultimates to try to heal their team. The sleep dart can also stop other ultimate strikes.
Finally, Nano Boost can turn any of your friends into a powerful force. It only requires one ultimate from the support characters, not both, though the person Ana helps will probably use their ultimate as well.
Moira And Ana
Moira is one of the most dangerous support characters, which is great because she can heal herself by hurting other characters. But that can make her feel more like a third-party damage dealer than a healer, since they focus more on fighting than healing, even though she’s great at healing many people at once. Ana, the sharpshooting backup, comes in.
Like Mercy, Ana is also one of the best heals in terms of raw numbers, so she can step in for Moira if she isn’t healing as much. Also, both of them can fight well on their own, so the healers won’t be in danger, especially since Ana doesn’t have to get close to heal anyone. Nano Boost works really well on Moira, too, so their two final strikes work well together. If you’re having trouble treating your targets with your sniper gun, you could still switch out Ana for Mercy.
Brigitte And Lucio
This is another good dive combination that will reward the whole group if you’re all very bold. These two characters don’t heal very well on their own, but when used together, their healing areas can be very effective. Brigitte can also use her Repair Packs in case of an emergency. In the current S5 meta, she doesn’t have as much value as Lucio, but she can be a good addition by helping Lucio heal in AoE.
Brigitte can also do a lot of damage by herself, and she and Lucio can heal all the time and speed up enemies, so they can even make tanks fall back. That’s not even counting what the rest of your group will do to help. Both of their ultimate powers are also very defensive, which means that they won’t kill anyone but will help your team stay alive during all of this dangerous dives.
Zenyatta And Baptiste
Since they are both support characters, this is another very dangerous mix. Both do good damage, and Zen can make it even better by using his Discord Orb on enemies. Baptiste can use this to heal the team more quickly because he can heal more targets at once, and Zen can help with targets that are hard to hit because his healing automatically goes to targets in your line of sight.
Both of them have skills that can save the team at the last minute. The Immortality Field can help the team avoid one-hit kills like Self-Destruct, Deadeye, or Rip-Tires. Zen’s Transcendence can help with damage over time abilities like Death Blossom, Dragonblade, and Dragonstrike. Zen can also use Immortality Field to help his team if Anti-Heal hits them, which would make his ultimate useless otherwise.
Kiriko And Lucio
If you need to move quickly, this is the best combination for you. For Super Sonic-level speed, add a Junker Queen as a tank. Kiriko’s healing is very strong, and it helps Lucio when he’s not using his “Amp It Up” ability. His constant speed can also make this combo great for dive setups. With her Protection Suzu, Kiriko can also keep several friends from dying, which gives her time to heal them and Lucio time to get them all back at once. In the same way that Mercy does, having Lucio around makes her more mobile.
It’s also possible for her ultimate to make a team move faster, hit faster, and reduce the time it takes to recharge. If you give Lucio an extra speed boost, you can make your team very flexible.
In fight, characters like Reinhardt can grow into huge monsters, or, as we already said, Junker Queen can speed things up even more. Still, this double-speed boost will work great for most characters and do a lot of damage. Lucio can even use his ultimate to make sure that during an all-out team dive, people won’t die as quickly.
You can also switch Lucio for Ana to mix Kitsune Rush with Nano Boost. Any of your allies can use Kitsune Rush, but it will mostly help the person who has both ultimate boosts. The person who gets Nano will destroy everything in their path, though.
Brigitte And Moira
It won’t make your team as fast as other teams, but it will make them even more bold. Brigette and Moira can do a lot of damage together, and if things go wrong for one of them, the other can help. This lets your team do their own things instead of watching over the support characters. Brigitte can also use her ultimate to defend Moira, who can also use it to fight.
You could switch one of them out for Ana. Either Brigitte or Moira could protect her, and her mending Grenade would greatly enhance their mending abilities. The trouble with Ana is that she works best in the back line, while these two work best in the front line. This means that Brigitte and Moira would have to stay behind, or Ana would have to put herself in danger.
Kikiro And Mercy
Kikiro has become a fan favorite very quickly since she came out in October 2022. She has some of the best stock in the current S5 meta. When fighting, she is effective because she can switch between protecting herself with Suzu and getting in the way with Kunai. She is quick, like a genji, can do damage, and has some area-of-effect skills that make her a great partner for Mercy, who is more fragile and focused on recovering one target at a time.
Because they each have their own set of skills and how they work, they can work well together to keep the treatment going easily. Along with each other, they can help a lot of the team. Mercy can do damage, and Kikiro’s Kunais can help the tanks a lot. Positioning is important for both of these support heroes, so it’s not the easiest mix to learn, but with enough practice, it should be possible to make this pair very useful.
Lifeweaver And Ana
The new support character in Overwatch has gotten a lot of attention for the way he plays and the way he heals and damages. These traits have also made the hero hard to learn because he moves awkwardly between healing and doing damage. Still, the clever scientist help can be very dangerous because it can change how the game goes and how it moves. For a number of reasons, he can work well with Ana, the shooting healer.
To begin, both heroes are harder to learn but have pretty high ceilings. With skill, they can do a lot of damage and healing. Lifeweaver’s mechanics are slower and less accurate, which works well with Ana’s quick shooting. Another thing that Lifeweaver can do is help Ana, who does most of the repair. He can heal her, give her more movement, and boost her. With Petal Platform, this makes it easier for her to get to high ground.
Bonus: Mercy, The Healing Joker
Mercy is one of the original characters and is probably the easiest support character to use. She is great for people who are just starting out. Though she’s pretty adaptable and can work well in most team compositions, it’s still a good idea to have another healer who can work with AoE.
Some characters, like Lucio, can work with almost any team, but Mercy is one of the best to start with because she heals quickly and consistently, which will help new players get into the healing attitude. She can also bring people back to life, which could change the game.
The bad thing about her is that she’s the most easily hurt character in the game. You only have a gun and can only attack close range, so the best thing you can do is learn how to run away or stay with your team.
