Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have an open world that can be fully explored. Players can feel like they are the main character of their own Pokemon series as they learn new things about Pokemon and the world.
Since Scarlet and Violet have an open world that you can fully explore, they offer a new type of adventure. Now, Pokemon fans of all ages can finally feel like they are the main character in their own story. As they fight their way to the top, they can learn new things about Pokemon and the world around them.
The map isn’t the only thing in the new Pokemon games that makes them feel more like role-playing games, but the large area to explore helps make it feel like a real RPG. There are many ways to play Scarlet and Violet, but the most fun is had when you go outside the normal ways and find something new. Here are some hidden spots in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that you may have missed.
Sandy Gimmighoul Ruins
It might be a surprise to find this big field on your way to the gyms if you’re going there first. You have to walk across it for a gym fight. You could keep going in the way you’re being shown. Or you could go out into the desert and check out what’s around the edges.
You can find what look like old ruins by first going along the eastern edge of the Asado Desert along the cliff valley. This small pile of old artifacts might be a reference to Pokémon Legends: Arceus and its time period, and it’s also home to a Gimmighoul. You can either catch it or use it to make coins.
Grassy Gimmighoul Ruins
Many completely different temperatures can be found in Paldea, but there isn’t much wild forest in the area. Small fields and trees can be found south of Asado Desert. Once you defeat Team Star in this area, you can find some things.
Coming from the southwest, you can reach some partially hidden buildings in the Cascarrafa area. You can take a quick picture of it for Pokémon Snap, or you can look around and find another Gimmighoul.
Who Dropped All This?
Even in the world of Pokemon, there are still some pretty tough jobs. After all, someone has to do all the building and digging that modern society needs. A work site that goes on for what seems like miles can be found between Area Three of East Province and Area Two of North Province.
On the eastern side of this huge work plain, there is a single platform covered in things, Gimmighoul coins, and useful TMs. Feel free to loot as much as you want. But be careful that your ride Pokemon doesn’t get stuck when you jump.
Big Treasure Mountain
You can find a lot of things, new moves, and cool Pokemon by picking around the workspace. On the north side of Tagtree Thicket, following the river can lead you to a prize chest and lets you see some rare Pokemon if you do it at the right time of day.
At first glance, this silt mound seems normal. But if you look at it from above, you can see that valuable things are spread out like a dusty Christmas tree. What a useful coal pile that no one knows about.
A Slightly Easier Route
A lot of people have trouble getting to Alfornada in Paldea. Beyond a dangerous cave full of Pokemon, there is a line of high-level trainers ready to knock you off your game. There are, however, other ways to get there if you have enough upgrades for Miraidon or Koraidon.
To get to a different route along the coast on the way to Alfornada, jump off the rocks and look for a narrow road. Make sure you don’t fall into the ocean until you get the update that lets you ride on water.
The Rod In The Stone
If you’ve ever been up high and thought you saw a magical light rod poking out of a rock, you weren’t dreaming. These bright staves are meant to be gathered, and the best way to find most of them is from above.
As you level up to Miraidon or Koraidon, fight the giants to get the most out of your upgrades. Then, start climbing to find all of these Evil Stakes. If you collect all of them, you’ll find out an even bigger secret that you can’t get to if you stay on the main roads.
It’s Shrine Time
Nintendo games often have tasks and minigames that take place in temples and shrines. Even the older Pokemon games had a bit of this with creepy areas like Lavender Town and martial arts shrines for Fighting-type Pokemon like Urshifu.
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you can find the shrines by opening these old buildings and finding all the Ominous Stakes that go with them. When you get them all, you might meet some Legendary Pokemon. Make sure that either Koraidon or Miraidon is fully improved. This will help you with your quest.
Gotta Climb ‘Em All
It’s possible that you want to know where you can and cannot go in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You can’t get into every building, but there is a new thing to discover. Paldea is full of towers that can all be reached in some way. There’s always a different way to get them if the linked ladder doesn’t work.
Some of the towers lead to fast-travel places, and along the floors of all of them are different things and supplies. They’re also great for getting Gimmighoul coins, which you can use to level up the small Pokemon that looks like you.
A Speedy Tower
As you might expect from an icy mountain slope in the middle of nowhere, Glaseado Mountain is pretty dangerous. Another tower on the east side of the mountain can be hard to find. It goes down to the lower levels of the mountain in Geometry Dash World.
You’ll have to do a tricky jump to get to the top, where you’ll find a bunch of Varoom ready to attack. When you beat them, you get not only a Gimmighoul. But also a useful TM that makes all your hard work pay off.
Into The Sea
When you’re done with all the Titans and Miraidon or Koraidon has been improved. You should go back to where you started. Not only do you need to be there for the next quest. But you might also have forgotten about the big, open sea that you couldn’t get to before.
Taking a trip around the islands near Paldea is a fun activity that shall last a long time. You can catch Pokemon and fight masters who hang out on the small islands. There is also a rocky mountain full of valuable things and TMs. Are you going farming? It’s all over this place.
It Was Supposed To Be Secret
You can find peace at the Pokemon Center, which is tucked away in the woods south of Glaseado Mountain. It’s a nice break when things get tough and you’re out of lunch materials. You can find another set of ruins in the woods near this spot, but they have already been claimed first.
I’m sorry, Jaime, but your secret base wasn’t hidden well enough to keep a Pokemon master looking for items from finding it. After you beat Jaime, you need to get a few more Gimmighoul coins before you can continue your journey.
